Korey Luna Photography

Bio

Korey Luna, a Marin County native, discovered his passion for photography in high school through teacher Jeff Martz. He continued his studies at the College of Marin, earning an Associate’s Degree before transferring to San Francisco State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Photography and a minor in Art History.
In 2019, Korey co-founded Piqued.fm, an electronic music platform dedicated to underground musicians. Through the platform, he produced live shows, podcasts, and mini-documentaries, contributing to the broader music scene.
In 2008, Korey partnered with Steampunk cosplayers to create Edwardian-style compositions, capturing unique portraits at various locations across Marin and San Francisco.
In the aughts, Korey contributed his photography skills to the nonprofit Queens of the Castro, documenting live performances and creating promotional portraits. Notably, he worked exclusively with drag performer Cara Catour, capturing portraits of each of her distinctive looks.
Through Piqued.fm, Korey co-created Monologs, a mini video documentary series that integrates his photography on location to highlight the interviewees. Filming locations have spanned from Sebastopol to San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Inspired by macro photography several projects have been created using liquids and soluble foods to create imaginary landscapes.
